PHOTOVOLTAIC canopy

Designed with the finesse that defines Onyx Solar, its BIPV (Building Integrated PhotoVoltaics) solutions grace the Healthpeak Callan Ridge Campus in San Diego, California, with an unparalleled architectural marvel: a photovoltaic canopy.

This technological marvel, which fuses sunlight with aesthetics, adorns the campus sky with a glass dome that captures the very essence of sunlight and transforms it into tangible energy.

Combined with functionality, this technological marvel converts sunlight into free and clean energy. In addition to the green roof and solar panels, this LEED project leverages many sustainable architectural features. A large canopy shades the south-facing glass, reducing heat gain

RAFAEL-VINOLY“We are extremely excited to kick off this incredible project and continue to contribute to San Diego's world-class life science ecosystem".

Michael Dorris, Healthpeak's Senior Vice President and Co-Head of Life Science

The project will comply with the mandatory requirements of the California Green Building Code and the California Energy code, and will be pursuing LEED Silver Certification under LEED version 4 Core and Shell.
