FEASIBILITY STUDY OF A PHOTOVOLTAIC CURTAIN WALL IN LONDRES
Reduction in HVAC energy demands
Brunel University, located in Uxbridge, west London, is installing transparent photovoltaic glass manufactured by Onyx Solar in its Wilfred Brown Building’s curtain wall. The building features 42 units of PV glass with different sizes; some of them are even 2.6 m wide!
This project is part of the remodeling of this 4,710sqm building, which celebrates its 50th anniversary next year.
This glasst enables he passage of light into the interior and also enjoyment of the views. In addition, it adds multifunctional passive bioclimatic properties of thermal inner comfort filtering UV and infrared radiation from the sun. Not to forget the free free, clean electricity from the sun!
